Lampang is a tourist town in the north that still retains the atmosphere of a retro atmosphere.
Visit the most famous and the symbol temple in Lampang Wat Prathat Lampang Luang , the sacred Phra that is the Lotus Marble, the base in Lanna-style circular shape while the exterior are adorned with Chanko gold, decorating in various. At this temple you can see the pagoda’s shadow in the upside down.Continue the trip to Lampang city ,A highlight of the tour is sitting in a Horse Carriage sight seeing around the old town and the heart of city. The horse and carriage was introduced in 1916 during the reign of King Rama VI when the train route was extended to Lampang. At the time, Lampang was the transport and trading hub of the north with goods coming in and out of Burma and Laos. People needed something to haul goods to and from the trains and the horse and carriage were used. They were also used in daily life for getting to school, the temple or the market.After lunch visit Lampang elephant hospital(Friends of the Asian Elephant foundation) ,The world's first elephant hospital opened in Thailand in 1993.Since then it has treated about 4,000 elephants for a variety of ailments from diarrhea to cataracts and even cancer. Other elephants arrive at the hospital with serious injuries from knives or gunshot wounds. Some also have to be fitted with prosthetic limbs after treading on landmines.
The tour will end at Maetha Jungle Market where locals sell odd ingredients such as edible ferns,various kind and shape of mushrooms,fried bugs!!,wild plants and animals collected from the forest. You will spend the time to sampling some of the more unusual flavors that local people love but are unlikely to show up on your table in a Thai restaurant.
After the tour transfer back to Chiangmai city and send you to hotel .
